Jerome

I had been through this town several times, but until this weekend, had never actually stopped.

This was once a booming little copper mine town which help to initiate its existence in 1876 until 1953 when mining had ceased. This town hinged existence on tourism after the mines were closed.

This also includes the Jerome Grand hotel that once was the Verde Hospital were nearly 9,000 people had died over the years. This is now a popular ghost sighting location for both tourists and locals.

During my visit, I felt the most creeped out in the Holy Family Church (built in 1984). Upon entering, the church didn't feel hospitable and the odd placement of a statue in the shadows made for a really sketchy visit.
